Mediflam tea is exclusively prepared for those who are suffering from inflammatory diseases such as arthritis. It contains standardized extracts of herbs which remove the accumulation of Ama (toxins at joints) and pacify aggravated Vata (a principle which operates improvements in the body) which adversely affect joint health. The immune system plays an important role in arthritis. Cells of the immune system invade joint tissues (the synovium), causing inflammation and over time damage the cartilage and bone. The immunomodulatory herbs of Mediflam tea such as Ashwagandha, Yastimadhu, Bala, Guduchi, and Punarnava reduce joint inflammations by acting on the immune system. Further herbs such Ashwagandha and Guduchi clear Ama, toxins which gets harbored in joints and acts as a foreign substance and triggers the immune system. Sunthi another ingredient of Mediflam tea help digest unclear Ama. Mandukparni improves the health of cartilage.
In a typical immune response, phagocytes release a burst of oxidants such as superoxide, hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl radical and nitric oxide to fight pathogens and trigger inflammation. The overproduction of these oxidants is contemplated as one of the major cause of chronic inflammatory diseases. Excess oxidants also cause DNA, membrane, and tissue damage. Polyphenols found in Tea may counteract these effects via a number of mechanisms. Research studies have shown that phytochemicals of Yastimadhu, Ashwagandha, and polyphenols of green and black tea inhibit activity of cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase, key enzymes in the production of eicosanoids(pro-inflammatory agents) including prostaglandins, leukotrienes and thromboxanes, and production of histamine, serotonin, and platelet activating factor (PAF), all critical agents of the inflammatory process. Polyphenols of tea were also found to inhibit inflammatory agents at the DNA level, halting signal transduction and production of mRNA by inhibition of protein kinase C and reactive oxygen species. Mediflam tea may improve the functioning of joints by reducing inflammation, stiffness, and swelling.**
